When a company wants to improve the overall success of its projects, it is necessary to master the engineering processes and thus guarantee the quality of the products and services resulting from these processes. To this end, there are models such as CMMI, a maturity assessment model for organisations in product, system and software development.

What is CMMI?

CMMI or Capability Maturity Model Integration is a reference model, a structured set of best practices for understanding, measuring and improving an organisation's activities by assessing its level of maturity with regard to systems, product or software development.

An extension of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) introduced by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) in the 1980s at the request of the United States Department of Defense (DOD) to develop a set of criteria for determining whether a project will be completed on time, on specification and within budget. The CMMI model defines a set of objectives aimed at ensuring project quality by improving key processes: project management, engineering and support.

Model training

To acquire the knowledge necessary to understand and apply the good practices recommended by the CMMI model, it is preferable to follow a dedicated training course. These training courses enable you to master the process areas linked to the different maturity levels of the approach. These stages are as follows: Initial (maturity level 1), Managed (maturity level 2), Defined (maturity level 3), Quantitatively managed (maturity level 4) and finally Optimizing (maturity level 5).

On 19, 20 and 21 May, some of Black Tiger's employees will follow the official CMMI V2.0 certification training course given by Inspearit, a consultancy firm specialising in performance management and business transformation. This training covers the specific practice areas for setting up and managing a service business and product development in the context of development and engineering projects.

Divided into two modules, Foundations of Capability and Building Development Excellence, the course will qualify our participants as Appraisal Team Members by confirming their ability to use the CMMI Development 2.0 view, to understand its business value contributions, to use the model for performance improvement and to know the principles of assessment.

Individual training for overall benefit

Through the training of our employees, Black Tiger will benefit from additional expertise in improving project productivity and the quality of the products delivered with the assurance of better control of deadlines, better management of risks, costs and increasing customer satisfaction through a more relevant response to their requirements. This training has many benefits not only for the participating employees, but also for the company as a whole, which sees it as a profitable and sustainable investment through the benefits that will be seen quickly and concretely. Black Tiger supports its employees and ensures that they have the capacity to learn and progress in an environment that favours individual expression through an ambitious company project.
